Rod began his training and career as a Financial Consultant with Shearson in 1984. Four years later he and several partners established their own investment firm, which they sold 12 years later to Ragen MacKenzie/Wells Fargo Investments. Since 2000 he has provided leadership as branch manager. Rod’s professional successes have been born from a client centric approach that has led to long lasting, trusted investment relationships. In early 2017, Brandon Carter, CFA® and CFP® joined The Carter Ryberg Group from Morgan Stanley, adding considerable depth and expertise to the team. Accounts are attentively constructed and managed according to the client's risk tolerance and objectives. Rod also has extensive experience acting as an advisor to retirement plan sponsors for 401(k) and profit sharing plans.

Rod graduated cum laude from Western Washington University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. A long time Skagit County resident, he earned his AA degree at Skagit Valley College and is a product of Burlington Edison High School.

Rod spent over 20 years in the service of community through the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon. He has coached in the South Skagit Little League for 13 years, served 10 years as the Finance Chair of the ICRS Endowment Fund, supporting a thriving local private school. He now is a board member of the Skagit County Public Facilities District in support of community arts at McIntyre Hall. He lives in Mount Vernon with his wife, Karen, where they have raised three fine children.
